Raymond Cheng 鄭凱聰

Raymond was born and raised in Hong Kong. Raymond became member of Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH) in 1993. He got his Licentiate, Trinity College London (LTCL) in Compositional Techniques in 1995. Raymond composes for varied genes, orchestral, choral, theatrical, etc. Premiere performances were held in Hong Kong and Macau. Raymond has also his music heard in the air on RTHK4.

He is now the Resident Composer of Hong Kong Youth Choir. Pieces premiered by the Choir includes What Have I Done So Wrong (1998) an a cappella, Choir's Anthem Let's Sing (2001), Godfather Fantasia (2003) an orchestral suite with choir, The Different Faces of Hong Kong People I - About Going to a Restaurant for Dimsums (2003) a miniature choral piece and a 2-hour musical in Cantonese Boys & Girls - Musical AIDS (2004).

Continued with The Different Faces of Hong Kong People series for choir , Raymond has composed II - About Going to a concert of Messiah (2005) and III - About Taking the Star Ferry (2007).

鄭氏生於香港。九三年成為香港作曲家及作詞家協會會員。九五年考穫英國聖三一音樂學院作曲技法高級文憑。鄭於工餘時間創作音樂，主要作品均為嚴肅正統音樂。作品包括獨唱、合唱曲、舞台音樂、管弦樂等。不少作品已於香澳首演，亦曾於香港電台第四台播放。

千禧年鄭氏為慶祝香港時代合奏團創團創作了一套管弦樂作品《 序曲 》。 2001年鄭再被委約編譜了一套《 交響組曲 》，取材自鄭為小朋友創作的兩套長篇兒童音樂劇《 奇妙綠色之湖 》(1998) 及 《 小豬嘜奇遇記 》 (1999) 。兩劇均於香港大會堂及伊利沙伯體育館作首演及重演。 2002 年再 被香港時代合奏團委約創作《單簧管、鋼琴與樂隊雙協奏曲。 鄭氏亦連續兩年受南區少年音樂劇社委約創作兒童音樂劇《桃李滿園樂韻一家》 (2003) 和將於2004年公演之《 桃李滿園．愛是 － 》 。

鄭現為香港新青年合唱團的駐團作曲家。委約創作作品包括無伴奏合唱《 What Have I Done So Wrong 》 (1998) ，合唱團團歌《 盡情合唱 》(2001) ， 為管弦樂隊及合唱而作之《教父幻想曲》 (2003) ， 鋼琴與 合唱小品 《 香港百態之一：上茶樓飲茶 》 (2003) ， 二幕粵語音樂劇《男男女女》 (2004) ， 鋼琴與 合唱小品 《 香港百態之二：聽彌賽亞音樂會》(2005) 和《 香港百態之三 ： 乘搭天星小輪》 (2007) 。
