Established in 1998, HKYC is one of the leading choirs in Hong Kong renowned for her all encompassing repertoire and dedication to championing local and Asian premiere performances of choral works by local and overseas composers.
Under the directorships of her Music Director Laureates, Mr. Patrick Chiu, Mr. Apollo Wong, Ms. Josephine Li, Mr. Felix Yeung and Miss Florence Cheng, and that of the current Music Director Mr. Christopher Cheng, HKYC has produced and performed an expansive repertoire including no less than 9 Hong Kong or even Asian premieres of major contemporary choral works including Paul McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio in 2002, John Rutter's Magnificat in 2003 and Mass of the Children in 2005, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem in 2006 , Eric Whitacre's Cloudburst in 2007, Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna in 2008 and Howard Goodall's Missa Aedis Christi in 2009, Robert Ray's Gospel Mass in 2010 and John Rutter's The Sprig of Thyme in 2011.
Through her own productions of regular concerts and appearances as guests with other esteemed local choirs and orchestras, HKYC has her repertoire ever expanding which includes Bach's St. John's Passion and B Minor Mass, Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Brahm's Ein Deutches Requiem, Faure's Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's The Creation, Mahler's Symphony No. 8, Poulenc's Gloria, Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky, Schubert's Mass in G and Vivaldi's Gloria in D RV 589.
HKYC has collaborated with many leading local artists including renowned choral conductors Mr. Raymond Fu, Dr. Michael Ryan, Ms. Carmen Koon, Ms. Kathy Fok; renowned sopranos Ms. Katusha Tsui-Fraser, Ms. Yuki Ip, Ms. Melody Sze and organists Mr. Peter Yue and Ms. Wong Kin-yue.
In recognition of her contribution to serving the community with quality music, in December 2001, HKYC was featured in a 60-minute programme broadcast on RTHK 4. In December 2004, HKYC was once again featured on RTHK 4 in a 60-minute programme of Christmas carols. HKYC has also been invited to perform at the annual Christmas Concert in the Park 2009, 2010 and 2011 organized by RTHK Radio 4.
Demonstrating her commitment to nourishing local young musicians, HKYC strives to promote new commissions and collaborations with local young artists. HKYC has her own Resident Composer and Resident Artist. To this day, HKYC has premiered 5 works by her Resident Composer, Mr. Raymond Cheng including the popularly received choral miniature About Going to a Restaurant for Dimsums. Being the Resident Artist, Mr. Alex Tam continues his generous regular appearance in HKYC's own concerts amidst his numerous professional commitments as one of the most sought after leading young tenors in Hong Kong,
As part of her dedication to educating and nourishing young music talents, HKYC holds master classes and workshops in her annual Summer Camp cum Concert. Throughout the years, under the insightful guidance of well-known vocalists including Ms Katusha Tsui-Fraser, Dr. Sam Lau, Mr. Alex Tam and Dr. Melody Sze, members got their valuable chance to brush up their singing skills.
In celebration of her 5th Anniversary in August 2004, HKYC laid a milestone in the world premiere production of Boys & Girls - Musical AIDS, an original Cantonese musical about AIDS by her Resident Composer Mr. Raymond Cheng. The 2-hour musical ran with critical acclaim for two evenings at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre to raise funds for the benefit of AIDS Concern.
With around 30 young and energetic members gifted with musical talents, HKYC has been enriching Hong Kong's cultural life passionately with quality music.
As a registered non-profit making charitable organization advised by a Board of Advisors comprising of renowned figures including Ms. Barbara Fei, Dr. Richard Tsang, Professor Daniel Law and Mr. Kenneth Lee, HKYC has over the years contributed her musical talents in organizing fund raising concerts almost every year for the benefit of other fellow charitable organizations including AIDS Concern, Ebenezer School for the Visually Impaired, Oxfam, Save the Children Hong Kong, St. John's Cathedral's HIV Education Centre and Helpers for Domestic Helpers, Lifeline Express, UNICEF (for the victims of the Tsunami in South Asia), and Sowers Action (for the rebuilding effort after the Sichuan earthquake).

香港新青年合唱團成立於1998年,是香港最富生命力與創意的合唱團之一。合唱團曾演出曲目包羅萬象,從巴羅克到百老匯音樂劇,尤以製作大型合唱作品在香港甚至亞州的首演見稱。
在前任音樂總監趙伯承先生、黃日珩先生、李鳳儀女士、楊欣諾先生和鄭之璿小姐,和現任音樂總監鄭智山先生的領導下,合唱團不斷精益求精,亦不固步自封,不段探索新音樂。自成立至今,合唱團已製作過不下九套大型合唱作品在香港甚至亞州的首演,其中包括披頭四樂隊成員保羅.麥卡尼創作之《利物浦神劇》(2002)、約翰.瑞特的《尊主頌》(2003)及《兒童彌撒曲》(2005)、安德魯.洛伊.韋伯的《安魂曲》(2006)和惠特克的《山雨欲來》(2007)、羅禮森的《永恆之光》 ( 2008 )、古鐸的《基督堂彌撒曲》( 2009 )、羅伯特雷的《福音彌撒曲》( 2010 )及約翰.瑞特的《 The Sprig of Thyme 》( 2011 )。
通過定期舉行的古典音樂會和與出色專業的音樂團體和音樂家合作,合唱團在嚴肅古典音樂方面不斷求進。曾演出曲目包括巴赫的《聖約翰受難曲》、《B小調彌撒曲》、伯恩斯坦的《奇切斯特詩篇歌》、布拉姆斯的《德意志安魂曲》、弗瑞的《安魂曲》、韓德爾的《彌賽亞》、海頓的《創世記》、馬勒的《第八交響曲 - 千人交響曲》、普羅高菲夫的《亞歷山大•涅夫斯基》、舒伯特的《G大調彌撒曲》、韋華第的《D大調榮耀頌》等。
曾經和合唱團合作音樂家包括著名合唱指揮符潤光先生、Michael Ryan 博士、官美如小姐和霍嘉敏小姐等。著名歌唱家則有女高音徐慧小姐、葉葆菁小姐、史韶韻博士和管風琴家余必達先生及黃健羭小姐。
合唱團經過多年勞力,成績得到肯定。2001年合唱團被香港電台第4台邀請製作60分鐘節目作為介紹本地合唱團系列之一。2004年合唱團再被邀製作60分鐘聖誕頌歌節目。 此外,合唱團更獲邀於香港電台第 4 台製作的 2009、2010 及 2011 聖誕園林音樂會中演出。
合唱團深信年青的本地音樂家需要機會及培養至力推動現代音樂演繹和創作。合唱團設有駐團作曲家及駐團藝術家。駐團作曲家鄭凱聰先生的六套作品已由合唱團首演包括小品合唱作品《香港百態之一:上茶樓飲茶》及《香港百態之二:聽彌賽亞音樂會》。另一方面,駐團藝術家男高音譚天樂先生作為香港最被賞識和器重的年輕男高音之一對合唱團的支持可謂不遺餘力,經常參與合唱團演出。
合唱團致力於教育與培養年輕音樂人才,合唱團每年於夏令音樂營暨音樂會中通過包括由著名指揮家官美如小姐,著名歌唱家徐慧小姐、劉森坪醫生、譚天樂先生和史韶韻博士指導的大師班及工作坊,提升團員的歌唱技巧,令團員獲益良多。
合唱團於2004年慶祝成立5週年,再創高峰,精心泡製合唱團的另一個世界首演﹕駐團作曲家鄭凱聰先生創作的二幕音樂劇《幸福愛滋音樂劇場﹣男男女女》。音樂劇於2004年8月於香港大會堂劇院首演,並為「關懷愛滋」籌款,甚獲好評。
在參與社會公益服務方面,本身是註冊非牟利組織的合唱團亦不違餘力。 合唱團設有顧問團,成員包括費明儀女士、羅炳良教授 、曾葉發博士和李冠輝先生。 合唱團差不多每年也主辦音樂會為社會公益服務團體籌款,他們包括「關懷愛滋」,「心光學校」(為視覺受損兒童而設的學校),「樂施會」,「香港救助兒童會」,「聖約翰座堂『愛之家諮詢及服務中心」及『家庭傭工支援中心』」、 「健康快車」和 「聯合國兒童基金會」(為南亞天災災民籌款)及 「苗圃行動」(為四川地震災後重建籌款)。
